Snail Rolls Recipe~

By request of Nabby J, here is my very own Snail Rolls recipe you can try at home. I first attempted to make this mini-breads few months back I think I've posted the photos of em too on this very blog~ Below are the required ingredients and directions to bake your own Snail Rolls:

Snail Rolls with Butterscotch Chips

Ingredients

500g all-purpose/wheat flour
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp butter
1 1/2 tspn salt
2 tspn sugar
1 tspn baking yeast
herbs (basil&parsley, for salty rolls) or raisins/blackcurrants & allspice (for sweet rolls) or chocolate/butterscotch chips
hand-hot water, as required
vegetable oil/any fats to be rubbed on the surface of dough pan/container

Instructions

Mix the eggs and hand-hot water lightly together to make 300ml in a measuring jug.
Add together the flour, salt, sugar, yeast and your choice of either herbs (eg parsley/basil), raisins/blackcurrants and allspice or even chocolate/butterscotch chips. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until you get a breadcrumb-like mixture.
Make a well out of the flour mixture and pour the eggs in the middle of it. Then, work the two until you get a soft-textured dough.
On a floured surface, knead the dough for 10 minutes and cut the dough into any numbers you'd prefer (in my case, usually I would get around 16 pieces of rolls) and then roll the dough into the shape of a snail.
After rolling them all, keep the dough pieces in an air-tight container and leave for an hour to rise.
Bake at the temperature of 220 deg Celcius for around 15++ minutes (best to observe the bakings, you can tell that their done when the rolls' color turns medium brown).

This brings back memories to my childhood days...

Word of the Week: Heartbreak

These few days, I've encountered the word 'heartbreak' if not 'heartbroken' a bit too often. I saw 'em on tv, in the papers, on the net..
I was watching 'Royal Pains' last night, and the episode touched on a new 'Japanese' medical term, 'tako-tsubo' which was some kind of situation, (if I'm not mistaken) whereby the heart feels squeezed very tightly that causes cardiac problems. Tako tsubo, translated in English, 'octopus trap', is exactly how the heart would look like during the attack. This is usually caused by stress, most of the time due to emotional depression. It is also known as the 'brokenheart' syndrome.
To me, this sounded pretty familiar, because I believe I have witnessed this situation before.. I think one of my friends might've had this before, because she was deeply emotional over a guy and she actually fainted one day.
Another friend might've experienced this as well. She'd call one night telling me that her chest is in pain after something went bad in her personal issues.
It's a mystery how we can feel the physical pain out of emotional distress. I guess that's why they call it 'heartbreak', kan? I've experienced this as well, but oh so many times before. It's like disappointment beyond repair. Felt as though the heart won't ever be able to be mended at all (more exaggeration, please!). I'd get these pain, then I'd throw up everytime after the episode. After that, half of my burden would disappear.

Heartbreak. Now we know there's not much of metaphore in that term.

I feel this. It just swooshed away, hurting me bad. From limb to limb...

They ridicule disappointment. They ignored my disappointment. Yet they tell me over and over again how disappointed they are of me.

At present, it's the BEST gift I've ever had. It made me cry a whole lot. Worry a bunch more.

I got migraines from all the worrying. Stress. Tensed. You name it. I got it.

That's how a big, how huge, how GREAT disappointment is as a gift in my present.

Today, at about 9++ am, I discovered something that had just embarassed most Malaysians in the eyes of the world.. I bet many Malaysians discovered it already la, true Twitter/FB/Blogs... Adakah they made caricature out of the recent tsunami disaster in Japan. So cruel! So insensitive! So annoyingly unnecessary! Grow up!

I discovered this whilst I was browsing around on FB, on my Dad's status. Looks like Malaysians are enraged as well because of this situation. I mean, come on la.. making fun of people whose lives were in jeopardy? Jaik dow!!!! That person should totally be disowned for making us Malaysians seem uncaring, insensitive.. cruel! SHEEESHHHH so tidak puas hati. Can we please just make fun of our local politicians who'd never made any sense when they talk? Now that'd be a nice joke.

Maybe I am a FEMINIST

I once thought that I were a feminist, though not long after that I learnt that some feminists may have gotten a bit extreme on some issues. Which was kind of silly, no doubt.
I'm not sure how feminisme ever came to be, but I think I am sure that it must've been caused by men's super ego and their self-proclaimed superiority in the darker ages. I mean, come on lah right.. If you paid attention in class during our primary school's Pendidikan Islam (Islamic Studies) you will get the idea of how wretched the jahiliahs were to their women and girls kan? I'm sure any religion such as Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism and any other religion would preach on the same things, whereby one of them is to treat any human - men or women, young or old, with respect, am I not right?
I remember Buddhism teachings, on karma, we all would probably know that it's got something to do with good versus evil.. And that what you give, you'll get back in the end, right? That is the simplest way that people's comprehension of karma, but I was told by a friendly source that karma is a cycle of life or some sort. Karma is when one party keeps grudge on another, and when they all die, in their next life they will still be in a battle until one of them decided to call for truce/peace that their upcoming lives will be harmonious. It makes sense, because as i've said, any religion preaches us to do the good and leave the bad.
I used to think that the extremity of being feminist is overrated. Well, it could if you don't take into account that all human are equal and should be treated equally. Feminisme can be quite sexist some way. I guess I am quite feminist when it comes to how unfair some men have been treating women.. But once women treat men by the evil of how wrong a man would've treated woman, that my fellow readers, is zalim. Zalim, derived from arabic vocabulary, meaning putting or having something where it's not supposed to (I hope I'm right lah hehe). So my point here is that it's zalim to for men to treat women badly, AND it's also zalim for WOMEN to mistreat men.
Concluding my blab this time 'round, all these that I've been trying to explain is to ensure that people understand the position of my interpretation of feminisme. FEMINISME to be is the pride of being female. Being a woman.. Not mistreating men, unless if they deserve to be mistreated, as they've mistreated others.

Finally, ending my post for today, I'd love to say the catch phrase the lecturers from the course I went to kept on saying after each lectures:
'What ever wrongs I've said and done is of my own; not of God's'

Verdict: BIASED!

If you are old fashioned, borned in the dark ages and never got out of a cave, then this might be your favourite book.

Honestly saying, in this age, maybe only abt 5% of the content of this book can be used.

I detest the 'wife's rights' chapter where the author mentioned less (close to nothing) on what the title was about, but rather more on why the superiority of men, how they are better than women. I cursed. Go chk the universities statistics and compare em with the statements. One silly statement was: Men are better that women because they are better horse rider than women. WHAT?
What's more disappointing is that it mentioned less about love, passion and cooperation of both man and wife in a sacred union called MARRIAGE. Furthermore, I hate that they even have a chapter on types of women going to hell, and those who will see haven. And no such chapters were written on men who'd neglected his wife and kids, men who'd done adultery, men who lied, cheated.. Benci. Smua blame women.

Author, you should go update your infos! And marry a feminist. And the translator should get herself some self respect! I doubt that God would demand such things!

Today, I would like to share with you something I discovered from Do2Learn site, called Emotions Color Wheel (click-0n for preview) where if you click on any color-coded emotions, a tab containing the etymology and meaning of the words describing the emotions will pop-up on the side. I found the photos of people displaying the emotions to be cute and somewhat interesting.. :P

"It's not You, it's Me" he/she blurted out as though they've been practicing that line the whole day after you've made a special appointment just to meet him/her. That will happen in some cases, while half-way partying, in the living room of a shared apartment or even on the phone. They'll make it a point to come meet you to settle this matter, where most of the time it'll seem like an excuse he/she should never come up with, or other than that they've gotten enough of you already, or at times, where mysteries have it, they are in deep pain that they wouldn't want you to share it with em.

I'm a strong believer of love and I never put romance aside in this occasion. I believe that when you love somebody, you will stay with them no matter how ugly/nasty/stupid they are. You will stay with them through the best and worst moments, and will bear all pain if you have to as long as they would do the same for you. wahseh.. so emo... Of course there will always be a border to that. Relationship is about 2 people becoming 1, they'd always say. Maybe it is, because the important thing about a relationship is that you have to compromise to reach the similar goals you're trying to achieve - staying together. Fair enough that not everyone can take hold of their fate if they don't believe in it right? What is love without compassion, yo?

Breakups can be bad or good in many ways. I'm typing this down as though this topic was given to me by my Academic Writing lecturer back when I was doing foundation. LOL. It is debatable that breakup kills souls. I mean it will if you don't take it positively. For me, breakups can be somewhat motivational, especially when you've been making yourself believe that you're a super-loyal girl/boyfriend who would do anything to make the other half the most happiest person on earth (exaggerated? Mhmm~ but most of us will say so, right?)! Well looky here, by making him/her the happiest person on earth sometimes will take you to the toll. Some people are lucky enough to have met their true love who in return truly loves him/her. Some are lucky they never caught their other half red-handed doing things that they hope he/she will never do (ie: CHEATING! ~ biggest case k~), and some knows it but refuses to believe it.. like hallerrr..! It's time to wake up! Like he/she doesn't love you when he/she's like cheating! Some are forgivable.. others are best not to mentioned. Either way, my point is, when he/she does these thangsss~ he/she does not deserve you! And best of all, in realizing that, you should also note that you deserve better because you were the awesomest one between the two of you for being loyal, loving and cheer-maker (or cheerleader) just so that he/she will always happy!

So all my Honeys out there come out of the shadows of sadness and agony after your superbad breakups and let's always remember that there will always be a Mister/Miss Right out there waiting for you instead of that stinko of a jerk that's been fooling around with you and others. Once you've awaken from this terrible dream, you should join me feeling sorry for them for being victims of their own games.

To end this topic today, I would love to express that everything happens for a reason. Once you feel though you have failed/have been failed by someone... you should get up again and and build up better. Learn from your mistakes, and never blame others on the things that had happened in the past. Thank them because you know, what scratched you when you fell is just another proof that you've experienced something that you can afterwards avoid.

I'm so in PMS pain at the moment.

The catchy phrase "Get On Board" reminds me of "Soul Train" from Disney Channel. A short singing show where children are on board a train dancing to really nice music by Genevieve and the train driver (I think). But yeah, this "Get On Board" campaign is spreading the words to the whole world in efforts to Stop Violence Against Children!

If you can see on the right side of my blog, I have installed a button that when you click, it will take you to its homepage. This campaign is by UNICEF and is supported by many many corporations and celebrities. Come on people! Let's all help spread the word on this~ We can make a difference in the lives of so many children.. though I hope to do more on this in a volunteering basis.. heheh~

It's happening everyday and in most every different ways... So please, please.. If you've witnessed or encountered any such events where beating and psychological abuse on kids~ TELL SOMEONE! Let someone know what's going on.

The future of our children will be the future of our world (sociologically, economically, and probably even politically ba!)~ So come on let's do something about it :)

Last night I went to the Cinema with Chee Sin and Lee Sin.. We went watching MEGAMIND! It was yeah.. MINDblowing, k!

Comedic as it was, there were of course romantic touches here and there in the movie.. (yes i'm trying to spoil it before you watch this! HA-HA) like the time where Megamind was the not even the last one to be picked in when they were playing in school (or as he pronounced it,.. "Shool" LOL), or when he tried hard to win the hearts of people around him, but he failed to do so.. He's soooo cute... I actually thought he looked like Neil Patrick Harris there! HAHAHA~ but Will Ferrell played his voice, but then again, Will Ferrell is a genius when it comes to animation comedies.

Yeah, and so Megamind, the infamous crook realised that a Hero is not Born, but Made. He said it out loud, when he realised that without a superhero, being a villain is no fun.. lol~ So he made a superhero.. who turned EVILLLL~ lol

I've been sleeping in my mom's room and found bunch of fabrics in her wardrobe... Then somehow I thought of a few type of dresses that I might turn the fabric to....:

So I was making a reservation for a room at Camp Permai a while ago, for my aunt. A girl answered and said that there were 2 cabins available on the date that I requested for reservation. Great, I thought. For RM270 per room, per night, that was an awesome offer I couldn't say no to... Wondering why she did not ask for more information about me, I knew I had to ask her how is it that I could pay for the room, to confirm the booking. She said, "It's okay, just come over to the premise on the day you had requested, and you can pay on that day." Great, I thought, so I left her my full name, and called my aunt to tell her the news. My aunt was glad to know about it, but something in me itches, I just know that something's not right, so I called back to ask the girl her name. Alas, a man answered and I told him that need to change the date of the reservation. Guess what? He said there are no rooms left for bookings... (and then after he made some typing noises in the background LOL.. classic!), .. he said, "We can give you a room, but you'd have to purchase the WHOLE package" (WHOLE package = 5 nights, which costs like RM3499 for 6 people, and additional heads would have to be charged RM350 each)... I'm a business student you idiot. If per night, a cabin is worth RM270, how can 5 nights it can cost up to RM3499? Don't tell me Camp Permai's business's going down... kan? RM270 times 5 nights equals to like RM1350. Goodness me, is that what you call a "package"? Unless if the room's air-conditioned, and we have a chauffeur for each guest, then I might consider. LOL. I kinda got pissed, and let my aunt call them instead.

And I kinda sent this inquiry to them as well.. How come? Why? Is it just because of Rainforest Festival that they are jacking up the price. Donkeys Fishing Chicken! Unfair bah~

Oh well. I can always drive over and drive back right after the show ;)

I am in the dining hall with all my books and papers. I am very nervous and I'm trying to figure out how to achieve these things... I realise that I've been ignorant. Not entirely, but I have been ignorant enough to not apply what I know, what I've learnt. So I jotted down in my notebook
earlier:

->Lack Experience? --> GAIN IT!
-> BUT HOW?!!

I can do a lot, but I'm just unsure about it. I know a lot.. and I can do a lot.. then again, I am lack of experience? Should I bend down and listen?~ Not a good idea.. Nobody will have the time to make me understand what's actually going on. I have to have the heart to absorb all these tiny matters. How can they not be well-organised when they have more experience than me? Aren't they scared of errors? How about late submission of documents? How can I contribute?

I got home to Nini's and heard about "Piagam Madinah" (or "the Medina Treaty") and I relate that with the Al-Qafiroon surah... and also the commotion in West Malaysia... the stuff that they did, they really don't needto go through all that, right? We are all human. We are all equal, the Treaty and surah strongly discourages us from fighting over silly stuff as this. So we believe in the same God, and the different religions that we believe in originate from the same part of the world... what is wrong with using the same word to call our God? Maybe, just maybe, we'd need to educate each other on this. Maybe we too should be educated to understand more about what we're not sure of... It's up to God who he favours. Today, a disbeliever (to our respective religions) may not understand or see what we have, but tomorrow we might not no.. So why the violence?

If you're wondering what will disrupt our future, it's ignorance. Some people should learn to understand other people's culture before making a fuss of it. I mean, have you forgotten what was taught earlier in school? This may be a bit controversial, but if people do not widen their knowledge on certain things such as this one, we're gonna have to go through the uunecessaries all over again.

Managing Yourself - Part I: Motivating Yourself

OK, so Amon and I kinda read the first part of Grolier Business Library's 'Managing Yourself'. And I found out that I am a person that may be motivated by what I want to ACHIEVE and the feeling of BELONGING to something, someone or a group.. Amon is definitely a person motivated by the need to have influence.. hehe..

This book further explained that while we are either (or may be influenced by 2 or all 3) of these motivators -- needing to achieve, needing to belong and needing to influence... we are driven by factors that may motivate us. The author setted up 5 drivers that dictates on how we do things, which individually for each person might be different. These drivers may be used for us to set our own standards when we do things... These drivers are: Speed, Perfection, Approval, Effort and Strength. Speed is the standard of a person who's always in a hurry. These people will never miss deadlines, are known to be efficient, may need less time for preparation, are quick-thinking and works best under pressure..with strict deadlines. Unfortunately, these are the people who would tend to be impatient and may pressurise others, who's always hasty and are prone to mistakes, talks quickly and may be interrupting (plus won't be able to listen to other people), rushes a bit too much to be on time and may not have enough time to check on potential mistakes. (This is soooo Amon and Sin)
A person bound on the standard of perfection are known to be accurate at making any jobs, less likely to make mistakes, will always have contingency plans for potential problems, reliable, well-organised and are always well-presented. On the other hand, these people may be so detailed that they may confuse others, would be a bit slow because they always have to make sure that their work is right, very critical, may lead to hesitation, often have hard time to trust others so that everyone will abide to the perfection standard as well, and may be quite poor at meeting deadlines. (Mommy, Nabs, and sometimes me)
The person who'd standardise him/herself to the Approval of others are usually those who are called pleasers. These people are good at smoothing things over, who are also good-listeners, intuitive, kind and considerate, understanding and well-liked. I want to admit that I am this, but I am not sure that I am always a kind person, although I always put other people's feelings before mine :P.. The disadvantages for these kind of people is that they may cause misunderstandings due to acting on intuition rather than checking facts, may not tell people the truth although they know that these people are wrong (because they'd hate to upset people), may be seen as weak, due to reluctance to put forward ideas and opinions, they might also have difficulties in saying NO (nang aku la),... and take criticism too personally (emotional).. (Yep this is me.. and Amon padah Liyana too.. because she's a sweet and sensitive person.. I'm not too sweet I guess)..
Forth driver is the standard of the Trier, a person driven by Effort. These people are hardworkers and they will never give up...They are enthusiastic, thorough (will look at all the possibilities and options), well-motivated, and yep, they work HARD! The downturn of having this as a driver is that they can turn simple tasks become hard due to the enthusiasm, they may start things, but never finish it..may volunteer for too much, becoming over-committed, and will be more concerned with effort rather than success! I know Sin is a hard-worker who's well motivated, but I think he always finishes his work ba...
Strength reflects the standard of the coper.. they never over-react and panic, they deal calmly with angry, upset or difficult people, and they could deal with difficult and stressful situations. They are very good at handling crisis when others panic, they are very honest, predictable, reliable and steady. But they may have the tendency to be afraid of letting people down. They can be hard to know, because their feelings are covered up. Besides that, they might not be aware of this, but being so strong may make them feel over-loaded inside, because they'd refuse to seek help from people and they hate admitting weakness. They see failure to cope with everything as a weakness. I see a lot of this in Athila. She's a very strong person, but I doubt that she's all emo inside. Maybe she is, who knows... but we love you just the same, hunny :)

I'm gonna continue with this soon... this kinda things are a bit eye-opening when you read more and more on it :P It may not be too accurate, maybe it'd help me work out my hidden strength :D

Remember those things you did in secondary school. Those little tiny things that some of us might regret now, some might just laugh it all, and some would actually be proud over it. This is mine. Hehe. I kinda miss my team mate. This morning I found my cheerleading uniform (lalu la reminiscing kejap tek). Cheerleading was so short-lived in our school. There were no support to prolong the activity. But I remember that Mr Tan (our secondary school principal then) was so supportive of us (or was he just indifferent over it? lol). For this blogpost, I'm just going to tag those cheerleader members from not just our team, but also those from other teams. :D If I missed some of the names, please tell me. I think I'd want to include your names here. And I think it'd be best if you have the complete photo of the teams. I'd love to post it in here as well :)

Tell me which girl will not fall for this. Reminiscing the times when the 'parents' of my family would sit together with the younger ones talking about what they wanted to do when they were younger led me to think: "Do I want to ONLY talk about what I always wanted to be when I have childern one day?" ~ Because you know how people always say that "Talk is Cheap!" If you really want to do some thing, forget about the possibilities of failures that are about to befall you, since you know that when you fall, there will always be a reason for you to jump back up when you want to right? So where am I now? I just recovered from fever. I am done with final exams that I am hoping so badly to pass (Please, God, Please make sure that I pass all!), and I have so many things that I want to do, that is actually waiting for me to choose which to do first.
Motivation? I need self-motivation. I have family and friends who believe in me (maybe not all, but most of them could see what I see). Money? Boleh dicari. I can start selling things as soon as I wish to, right?
